On the first evening of the Art Ex Festival, September 29th, 2017, the official opening of the exhibition “The Tide, the Light, it’s Blood and their Return” took place at the Gwendolyn Cooper Art Gallery at the Gordon Pinsent Centre for the Arts. This was an exhibition of prints by artist David Sheppard which explored the themes of metamorphosis, figures emphasizing half human and animal forms. David’s exhibit featured numerous prints of images that he has been dealing with over the past several years led the audience through his creative process, explaining how he created the images, and the printmaking methodology he uses. Originally from Bishop’s Falls, David is a very talented young artist, who now resides, works and creates art in Toronto where he is a well respected member of the arts community.
