Introduction to Non-toxic Printmaking
Artists Emily Pittman and Daniel Rumbolt combine their skills to offer an exciting collage and printmaking workshop. Using accessible and exclusively non-toxic materials, we will be teaching a workshop of up to 15 people how to create their own unique collagraph. We will demonstrate how to cut and assemble materials that can be found throughout the home into an expressive collage, and then painted with non-toxic tempera paints. This will also allow for a lesson in basic colour theory, as we will be providing the three primary colours (with black and white) and aiding the participants in mixing their own colours. This allows for prints that speak to each individual’s artistic decision-making and self-expression.
